Argh! I’ve been plagued by this recurring Photoshop error message for months now. I cannot find anyone else experiencing this same problem online. As I recall, this problem first occurred after I “upgraded” to Photoshop CS3 Extended. So, years would probably be more accurate than months. Anyways, I’m saving to a local drive so no one else could possibly be using the the same file. And, the only application using the file is Photoshop. I haven’t been able to figure out what specific sequence of events triggers this error message.

for what it is worth – I am having the same trouble. Don’t know how to fix it but just wanted you to know you aren’t alone 🙂
Same problem here with Cs4 Master Collection 🙁
Will post here if I find solution.
I have the same problem and it occurs when I try to overwrite a file that has been an attachment in Mail before. I wonder if it has to do with Mail preferences…
Same problem here. Pisses me off because it’s impossible to run an action using save for web. Seems to be an Adobe glitch. I’m on Win7 x64 with CS4 master coll.
Same thing. if I keep ignoring the message and keep trying it will eventually allow me to save. Win 7 64 bit. Photoshop CS5. Maddening.
I had the same issue. However, I managed to solve it by duplicating the file in the folder, deleting the old one and using the new one.
